Well the festive season has been and gone quickly and it's time to start getting ready for the 2016 season. As it was mentioned a couple of times at the end of last year there has been some fairly big changes to the rule book for this year.
Some of these changes include:
- 2016 for any meeting a CIK-FIA Homologated Rear Impact protection bar must be fitted for any level of race meeting.
- New tyre rules for all classes ie-
* Cadet 9 & 12: Bridgestone DR1 YJL
* KA4 (Previously Junior National): Bridgstone DR10 YLR ROK
* Tag 125 Restricted: Dunlop DFM
* Tag 125 MG HZ Option (Red/white)
- Rib protectors are mandatory for all Cadet & Junior drivers.
These are some of the main changes that will affect our club members but again I advise all members to download & read over the 2016 rule book or at least read your class rules. These are fairly costly changes that Karting Australia has implemented for 2016 so start saving now.
Also for those of you that put down your name to go to the Officials Training Day on Saturday Feb 6 at Mantra Tullamarine, there has been a Coopers mini bus booked. Please either ring or text Nick or myself (Phil) to confirm that you are still coming. A departure time from Bairnsdale will be put up on the website & facebook soon.
There is also the Bunnings BBQ coming up on Sat Feb 13th so we will be looking for plenty of helpers to pitch in & help out on that day to raise money for our club.
